The Lost Picnic Site
I followed an overgrown path in the woods, the path less travelled.
The path led me to a hill top with a broken picnic table.
And another overgrown...
...a forgotten, abandoned picnic site.
Seats no longer sat on...
... and swings no longer swung on.
Though the furniture is crumbling with time the views remain.
Wood for new creations that only exist in someone's imagination, a memory of what might have been while everything else is a memory of what was.
There is a new picnic site, easier to get to...
...though next to a graveyard. The new lives with the dead, while the old still dies slowly.
